About Our Nonprofit

Vape Reviews is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit publication dedicated to public education, consumer safety, and harm reduction. Through VapeReviews.org, we provide accessible, evidence-based information to help the public better understand vaping, the products involved, their potential risks, and the evolving science surrounding them.
Our work is focused on education and public awareness. We conduct independent research, publish educational resources and product analysis, and make evidence-based information accessible to consumers and the broader public. Our goal is to promote informed decision-making, improve understanding of vaping-related safety issues, and contribute to meaningful harm-reduction efforts.
Product reviews and comparisons are one part of that public-education work. We also research safety and compatibility questions, explain product terminology, follow scientific and regulatory developments, develop educational resources, and publish evidence-based context that can be used by consumers, families, educators, journalists, researchers, and the broader public.
Our nonprofit purpose is reflected in how we work: evidence comes before promotion, important limitations are explained alongside findings, public-facing resources remain accessible, and commercial relationships do not purchase research outcomes or editorial conclusions.

Our Mission
Our mission is to improve public understanding of vaping, related products, their potential risks, and the evolving science surrounding them. We do that by making evidence-based information accessible through independent research, educational resources, product analysis, testing, safety coverage, and harm-reduction information.
Vaping is a complicated subject because products, product formulations, scientific evidence, regulation, and consumer behavior all change over time. Information can come from manufacturers, retailers, researchers, government agencies, public-health organizations, advocacy groups, and consumers, and those sources do not always answer the same question or carry the same weight.
Vape Reviews exists to examine those pieces carefully and explain them in a form the public can use. We want readers to understand what is known, what is uncertain, what a product claim actually means, what risks deserve attention, and how new evidence changes the picture.
What We Do
Our work combines independent research, public education, consumer-safety resources, harm-reduction information, and product analysis. Product reviews are useful because they let us examine real products, claims, labeling, performance, compatibility, maintenance, and safety considerations in a concrete way.
Depending on the subject, our research and analysis may examine:
- design, materials, construction, and overall build quality
- battery life, charging behavior, heat, and electrical characteristics
- setup, controls, ergonomics, leakage, consistency, and day-to-day usability
- vapor and flavor performance where those measurements are relevant to the review
- pods, coils, replacement parts, and compatibility
- labeling, labeling and formulation information, ingredient disclosures, warnings, and manufacturer claims
- authenticity, availability, price, value, and meaningful differences from competing products
- safety information, regulatory context, and other limitations a reader should know about
Not every question uses the same method. A scientific claim, charger, battery, pod system, disposable device, replacement coil, market trend, or regulatory development may require different evidence. The common standard is to explain the method, the limits, and the facts that support the conclusion.
Product Analysis, Comparisons, and Buying Guides
Product analysis helps the public understand how devices and related products differ in practice. We use reviews, comparisons, and buying guides to explain design, compatibility, maintenance, labeling, performance, price, availability, safety considerations, and the tradeoffs that are easy to miss in marketing material.
When we rank or compare products, the purpose is to make the reasoning visible. We explain the criteria, identify meaningful differences, and show where a product performs well or falls short. A recommendation is an editorial conclusion based on the analysis, not a direction to begin or increase use.
Products, evidence, prices, availability, and regulations change. We update analysis when those changes are significant enough that an older conclusion no longer gives readers an accurate picture.
Direct comparisons are especially useful when products appear similar. Putting specifications, parts, controls, maintenance, evidence, and practical limitations side by side can show whether a difference is meaningful or mostly marketing.
Product Testing
Testing is one way we move from claims to evidence. When a question can be measured or observed, we may test internally or work with qualified laboratories, specialists, researchers, or third-party testing organizations.
Depending on the question, testing may involve battery and charging behavior, temperature, durability, leakage, labeled concentration, chemical composition, ingredients, emissions, contaminants, materials, labeling accuracy, authenticity, or other safety and performance characteristics.
A test result is only as useful as its method and limits. Equipment, sample size, product revisions, methodology, and the purpose of the evaluation all matter. As our testing program develops, we work to publish enough context for readers to understand what a result supports—and what it does not.
Consumer Safety
Safety information belongs next to the product information, not hidden on a separate page that readers may never see. Batteries, chargers, e-liquids, disposable devices, refillable systems, replacement parts, and storage practices can all raise different questions.
Our safety coverage includes topics such as battery damage, charging, overheating, leakage, storage, maintenance, counterfeit or unregulated products, recalls, product disposal, product exposure, child safety, warning signs of defective products, labeling, and manufacturer instructions.
When a review reveals a practical safety concern or maintenance issue, we try to explain it in the review itself. Broader safety topics are also covered through standalone educational resources so people can find the information even when they are not researching a specific product.
Consumer Education
Public education is central to Vape Reviews. Vaping and related products involve technical vocabulary, changing device formats, battery specifications, product formulations, scientific findings, regulatory terminology, marketing claims, and potential health and safety risks that can be difficult to evaluate without context.
We explain how products function, how device categories differ, what labeling and formulation terms mean, how batteries and charging systems work, what current research can and cannot establish, how regulation affects the market, and which product or safety claims deserve closer scrutiny.
The goal is not to make every reader an industry specialist. It is to give the public enough reliable context to understand the subject, recognize uncertainty, ask better questions, and make more informed decisions.
Research
Some of the most important questions are larger than a single product review. Vape Reviews conducts, supports, organizes, and publishes research related to vaping and related products, consumer safety, harm reduction, product quality, labeling, manufacturing, market changes, public understanding, regulation, and other issues relevant to the public.
That work may include original testing, surveys, data collection, product analysis, literature reviews, regulatory research, market observation, database development, or collaboration with qualified third parties.
Where it makes sense to do so, we publish the useful parts of that work so consumers, researchers, journalists, educators, policymakers, and other interested readers can use the information rather than keeping it locked inside the organization.
Youth Access and Prevention Education
Preventing youth vaping is part of responsible public education. Our product analysis is written for adults, while our prevention resources are intended to help parents, families, educators, organizations, and communities understand the products and trends young people may encounter.
Topics can include recognizing device types, changing disposable formats, labeled concentrations, concealment, storage, accidental exposure, health education, and practical ways to reduce youth access.
Prevention efforts are stronger when adults understand what products look like, how they are marketed, how product formulations may be presented, and how the market is changing. Our product knowledge supports that educational work.
Industry and Regulatory Information
The vaping market can change faster than a static buying guide. New products launch, old products disappear, manufacturers revise hardware, regulators issue announcements and enforcement actions, and federal or state rules can change what is available.
We follow FDA developments, federal and state regulation, product authorizations, enforcement activity, recalls, manufacturer announcements, research, technology changes, public-health information, and other developments that materially affect the products we cover.
Our role is to translate those updates into useful context: what happened, what changed, who it affects, and whether a reader needs to reconsider something we previously published.
Our Editorial Independence
Editorial independence means the people being covered do not get to buy the conclusion. Manufacturers cannot purchase a favorable review or rating. Donors do not choose our findings. Sponsors do not get approval rights over independent editorial coverage.
That does not mean we will always be negative about a company or product. If a product performs well, we say so. If it performs poorly, we say that too. The standard is the work behind the conclusion, not whether the conclusion makes a manufacturer, donor, sponsor, or reader happy.
We publish our editorial, disclosure, fact-checking, corrections, and sponsored-sample policies because independence is easier to trust when the rules are visible.
Working With Vape Companies
Covering an industry responsibly sometimes requires talking to the companies in it. We may contact manufacturers and retailers for specifications, documentation, product samples, statements, corrections, technical explanations, or answers to questions raised during reporting and testing.
We may also work with laboratories, researchers, universities, regulatory professionals, consumer organizations, public-health groups, trade organizations, and other qualified parties when their expertise helps answer a legitimate question.
Access is not approval. Receiving a product, having a conversation with a company, or asking a manufacturer to respond does not guarantee positive coverage. When a relationship is material to the article, we disclose it.
Donations and Support
Public-interest research, testing, education, and publishing require resources. Products and source materials have to be acquired, tests may require equipment or laboratory work, research takes time, specialists may need to be consulted, and the publication itself has to remain available to the public.
Support may come from individuals, foundations, grants, organizations, institutional partners, sponsorships, and other lawful sources that fit the nonprofit mission. Funding can support research, testing, safety education, harm-reduction resources, youth-prevention education, public databases, expert consultation, reporting, and the day-to-day operation of Vape Reviews.
Support funds the work; it does not purchase the finding. Donors, sponsors, manufacturers, advertisers, and other outside parties do not receive the right to dictate research results or independent editorial conclusions.
Free Public Access
We want evidence-based information to be available where people actually look for answers: on the open web. A substantial portion of our research, safety resources, educational materials, product analysis, comparisons, and public-interest reporting is published for free public access.
People should not need an industry database, technical background, private research subscription, or commercial relationship just to understand basic product differences, safety information, product terminology, or an important change in the evidence or regulatory environment.
Turning complicated information into something the public can understand and use is not an extra feature of the organization. It is one of the reasons Vape Reviews exists.
Transparency
We would rather explain how the publication works than ask readers to guess. That includes clear advertising and affiliate disclosures, published correction standards, visible editorial policies, staff information, and rules for sponsored samples and outside relationships.
When an important error is identified, we correct it. When new information materially changes an evaluation, we can update it. When our testing methods improve, the methodology can improve too.
Transparency is not pretending the work never changes. It is showing readers what changed, why it changed, and which standards we are using now.
Certificate of Existence
Vape Reviews maintains the state corporate records associated with the organization. Our certificate of existence documents that the entity is active and recognized by the filing office that maintains its formation record.
We include this information because nonprofit status and corporate existence are factual parts of who operates the publication, not branding language that readers should have to accept without documentation.

IRS Determination Letter
Vape Reviews is recognized as a tax-exempt nonprofit organization under section 501(c)(3). The IRS determination letter is the federal document associated with that recognition.
That status provides the organizational framework for our public-education, research, testing, consumer-safety, harm-reduction, and prevention work.
An Independent Resource for Adults
People arrive at Vape Reviews for different reasons. Some are consumers trying to understand products they already encounter. Others are people researching alternatives, family members, educators, journalists, researchers, public-health professionals, or members of the broader public trying to understand vaping and related products from a different perspective.
We do not assume those readers share the same opinion about vaping or the same reason for being here. Our responsibility is to present accessible information about products, evidence, potential risks, safety, and uncertainty so people can understand the subject and use the information for a legitimate purpose.
Our Approach
We approach vaping as a public-education subject that requires evidence, context, and clear explanations rather than a prewritten conclusion. Products differ, scientific findings have limits, marketing claims vary in reliability, and useful information can come from multiple kinds of sources.
We evaluate products and claims, review research, test when appropriate, verify source material, explain known risks and uncertainties, follow regulatory developments, and distinguish what is established from what is still evolving.
Then we publish what we learn in plain language. Independent research, product analysis, consumer-safety information, and harm-reduction education are parts of the same goal: helping the public understand the subject more clearly.
Why Vape Reviews Exists
There is no shortage of information about vaping. The harder problem is determining what kind of information you are looking at, what evidence supports it, what interests may be behind it, and how much weight it deserves.
Manufacturers and retailers know products but also sell them. Government agencies publish rules and enforcement information. Researchers publish evidence that may be technical or narrow. Public-health organizations, advocacy groups, journalists, and consumers each contribute different kinds of context.
Vape Reviews exists to help the public put those pieces together. We combine research, product analysis, safety information, regulatory context, scientific evidence, and practical education so readers can understand both the products and the larger issues surrounding them.
Our Commitment
We are building Vape Reviews as a long-term public resource. That means improving our research and product analysis while expanding safety resources, harm-reduction education, scientific and regulatory coverage, consumer education, youth-prevention resources, testing, and public databases.
The standard is straightforward: make the information genuinely useful, distinguish evidence from marketing, explain important limitations, show the work behind meaningful conclusions, correct mistakes, and keep the publication independent enough to publish what the evidence supports.
Our nonprofit structure gives that work a clear public-purpose foundation: people deserve accessible, evidence-based information about vaping, related products, their potential risks, and the science surrounding them.
