Question

Button feels different after a few weeks

A main button on one device has become slightly softer than it was new. It still activates every time and does not stick, but the tactile click is less sharp.

Would you log that as normal wear, an early durability note, or only mention it if function changes?

Hardware details are usually where the answer is hiding.

I would log it now as a physical change and avoid calling it a failure unless function, consistency, or safety changes. The value of the note is that you can compare it later if the behavior progresses.

Exactly. Documenting the change early is useful even when the conclusion is “still functioning normally.”

I take notes before I trust my memory.
