I have had fewer mess problems since I started storing devices upright when practical and wiping the contact area before putting them away for longer periods.

What storage habits have actually made a noticeable difference for you rather than just sounding tidy?

The biggest one for me is not putting a device away immediately after a messy refill. A quick wipe before storage prevents a small mess from becoming dried buildup.

I would add avoiding unnecessary heat exposure and following the manufacturer storage guidance for the specific product.

Good point. The quick post-refill check is probably doing more for me than the organizer itself.
